Tigers take second at Greenville Selects; Rinehart, Vannatta pick up qualifying marks

GREENVILLE, Ill – Carlie Vannatta (JR/Zionsville, Ind.) and Jezri Rinehart (SO) picked up automatic qualification to the NAIA Outdoor National Championships for the Olivet Nazarene University women's track and field team on Friday, April 14 at the Greenville Selects Meet. The Tigers finished second overall at the event hosted by Greenville College (Ill.).

Rinehart posted the top mark for collegiate entries in the discus with a 43.77m mark to earn her automatic trip to Alabama in May. Vannatta will join Rinehart on the bus thanks to her second place finishing the hammer. She posted a 51.09m throw. Rinehart also added a provisional qualification in the hammer throw, finishing fourth overall with a 48.45m mark.

Washington University (Mo.) finished first overall with 191.99 points. Olivet put 127.99 points on the board for the day to take second place. Illinois Wesleyan University finished third with 93.83, followed by Lindenwood University (Mo.) with 73.33 and Greenville with 57.33.

Olivet will return to action on Friday, April 21 at the Augie Invite hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Events are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
